Stamping Capabilities
Olin Fabricated Products is unique in that we design tools and manufacture products on over 75 active presses, with three distinctive types of equipment:
- Progressive Presses
- Transfer Presses
- Cupping Presses
Progressive Press
In a progressive die, metal strip will carry the part through the tooling. Due to the construction of progressive dies, they are interchangeable among many presses given sufficient tonnage and bed size. Olin Fabricated Products will design multiple cavity tooling to maximize production efficiency for higher volume applications. We will accept any existing tooling that you might already own to run in of our progressive presses, which range in size from 60T up to 800T.
Transfer Press
In a transfer press operation, there are mechanical fingers that grip each part and move it through the tools. This transfer slide will automatically index the parts to the next station with each stroke of the press. Olin has a wide range of transfer presses that will accommodate a variety of product sizes. This allows us to design complex parts that may require up to twelve stations or deep draw up to a six-inch maximum length.
Cupping Press
Olin Fabricated Products has the ability to stamp small caliber bullet jacket cups up to 20mm cartridge case cups. These can be supplied in an annealed and cleaned condition for greater ease in further processing by the customer. Cups are typically produced in multi-punch layouts to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
