Applications for Fineweld® Tube's tubing in this end-use category include absorption air conditioners, ground-source and water source heat pumps, swimming pool heaters, and commercial refrigeration units. The alloy typically supplied by us for these applications is 90/10 Copper-Nickel (C706). “Low Fin” integral fin tubing is often used in these applications and the integral finning operation can be subcontracted. Base tubing for integral fin applications is produced in accordance with ASME SB-543 (listed in Division 1, Section 8 of the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code). Finned tube is produced in accordance with ASTM B-956-07.
Headers and connection tube for commercial air conditioning is another application for Fineweld® Tube's tubing. In such applications, significant cost savings can be realized through the use of Alloy C194, an iron-modified Copper. These cost savings are possible because the higher strength of alloy C194 (versus copper) allows the wall thickness to be reduced without sacrificing performance.
