Copper Helps Control Infection in Healthcare Facilities

There is growing concern over patients being exposed to hospital born infections. Copper (and its alloys) has been shown to possess antimicrobial characteristics and effectively controls and extinguishes bacteria and viruses that can potentially cause life-threatening illnesses. Along with the more common nosocomial infections, copper is also rather effective at mitigating the more antibiotic resistant infections such as Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) and Legionella Pnuemophila (Legionnairres Disease).
